The OS looks and feels very solid and intuitive, however, since the upgrade I was unable to use 3G internet. It turned out that some settings in the APN cannot be changed. At this stage third party apps also have trouble with this – such as APN backup and restore.

However, the solution was very simple. All is needed is a full REBOOT of the phone and the needed settings reappeared! I now can enjoy my phone.

I remember Star Trek officers walking around with thin tablet computers. It was a science fiction back then. Last week, however, as I opened the box with my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus, I was amazed how thin it is. The sleek black desing slims the device even more, espesially when compared to my previous device. Till now, I was using WITS a81e, but decided to move to a brand tablet due to mechanical problems.

So, after using this for a week I have my first impressions . The new Tab is miles faster and responsive then P1000 Galaxy Tab I reviewed earlier. The specs are not so far apart, but the combination of the upgraded cpu and Honeycomb 3.2 really make a difference . One apparent drawback is the lack of 3G connectivity. Although Wi-Fi is available in most places, recently there is a troubling trend of charging for the use of it.

This tablet is available at 399$ new from Amazon and in my opinion it is currently the best Honeycomb device out there. There is constant change, but Samsung,so far, succeeded in providing the best answer to the venerable Ipod. Just to show how thin the new Tab is, I sandwiched it between old Tab and Nexus S. This is pretty cool sandwich:

Couple of words about Honeycomb OS. Compared with 2.2 Android Galaxy Tab p1000 is running, there are a few improvements. First – browsing became much better (but still not user friendly as a regular pc). For example, if you wish to download an ebook, the new tab does that with a click of a button, while in the old Tab you frequently had to use your pc to download the ebook and then transfer the file to the Tablet. Moreover, the previous version identified the device as mobile – and you always got this bugging sites built for mobiles. Honeycomb, however, is identified differently, so now developers of new sites can distinguish the tablets from smartphones. And finally, stock browser has tabs now!
