Dell Streak with Android 2.1

Dell Streak is the first western brand device released after the sudden explosion of demand for tablets. It is a crossbreed of a phone and a tablet in one sleek device, running Android 2.1 OS. Also, this is the first android device featuring a capacitive (rather then resistive) excellent five-inch 800 x 480 LCD display. The building quality is superb, leaving the generic Chinese devices way behind. Alse, the battery is pleasant surprise, with a effective endurance of 10 hours. However, the device is not cheap – if you are looking to buy it without contract, in the States you will have to shell out 550$ and even more if you live outside USA.

The specs are:

  1. 5-inch capacitive multi-touch WVGA (800×480) display
  2. 1GHz Snapdragon ARM-based mobile processor from Qualcomm (like in Nexus One)
  3. 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash that offers easy point & shoot capability and quick uploads to YouTube, Flickr, Facebook and more
  4. VGA front-facing camera enables video chat functionality down the road
  5. A user-removable (and replaceable) battery
  6. A 3.5mm headphone jack
  7. Integrated 3G + Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + Bluetooth 2.1
  8. UMTS / GPRS / EDGE class 12 GSM radio with link speeds of HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA
  9. MicroSD slot expandable up to 32GB.
